No Frosting Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake!

Here is an easy and delicious recipe I've had on file for years. It's so yummy there is no need for frosting AND you mix it in the baking pan! If you want, you can dust a little powdered sugar on top before serving to add a finished touch. Enjoy! I know you will.

Ingredients:
1 box Duncan Hines Devil's Food Cake Mix
1 box chocolate pudding - cook & serve (4 serv. size)
1/4 C vegetable or canola oil
1 1/4 C water
2 eggs
1 C chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350*. Pour oil in 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Coat pan with oil (with a little on the sides). Add all other ingredients and mix with fork 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in chocolate chips last. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes. Done after toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

Hey Chrissy! Did you include the recipe when you sent the mix? All I saw was what I was suppose to add to it. I was wondering if they were the same. Too funny! I got this recipe about 20 years ago (before Katie was born anyway) and have made it off and on ever since. Love it!

This sounds like the one my friend Linda makes and it is over the top. You may not remember that I have not had much luck in my baking career. I had Billy's Mom over for dinner years ago and served cake for dessert. She leaned over to me and whispered, "you know they make a boxed cake mix now that turns out perfect every time." I turned to her and said, "I know, this is a boxed cake." She drew back with a surprised look on her face. Guess she never knew that you could screw up a cake mix. hahahahaa

Yum! That does sound good. I might have to give that a try the next time I need some chocolate.

The picture of the chocolate chips alone make me want to start baking already!
